This year Student Council held the 7th annual No-Dinner Dinner Theater Feb. 26 in the John Thomas Theater. The council sold over 500 tickets and made $6640.

“This was only our second year in the [John Thomas Theater], so I didn’t really know what to expect,” Student Council advisor Susan Waldrep said. “During dress rehearsal all the lights started blinking, the fog machine went off when it wasn’t supposed to and the music was off on most of the numbers. I knew then that the performance would go well since the rehearsal didn’t.”

Students that participated have been preparing with numerous practices every week since December. There was over 30 numbers that consisted of singing, dancing and acting.

“I was really nervous because I never sing in front of people,” senior Keeley Green said. “But it was fun to get out of my comfort zone, and I was really relieved when it didn’t go badly. It was so sad standing on stage knowing I’ll never be in one place having so much fun performing with all my friends and fellow seniors again.”

After the final number of High School Musical’s “We’re All in This Together” and the curtains are closed, the students realize their hard work was all worth it in the end.

“Dinner Theater was overall fun and an amazing experience,” freshman Julia Whitehorn said. “It was so interesting to see how the leadership students choreographed all of the dances, and taught them so well. I definitely cannot wait for next years production.”
