The HighSteppers’ annual Spring Show will be held April 28 and 29 at the Sullivan Performing Arts Center. The theme for this year’s show is “Dancing with the Stars,” which will feature various hits from the Billboard Top 100.

“This year, our Spring Show theme encompasses a wider variety of music, so there’s a higher chance that someone knows the song we’re dancing to,” senior social officer Olivia Johnson said. “There’s also the added advantage of not having such a short list of songs to perform to.”

For the dancers, much preparation goes into making the show a possibility.

“We start getting ready for the show right when competition season ends, so we don’t really get much of a break,” senior captain Leighton Weber said. “The week before and the week of, we usually don’t leave practice until 6:30 p.m. because we want to make sure that all of that hard work pays off.”

For all of the team, the show not only represents the end of the season, but also an end of an era.

“I love Spring Show because it’s a lot of fun and a celebration of what we have accomplished through the year,” junior lieutenant Parker Madlock said. “However, I dread it because we realize that the seniors won’t be here to dance with us next year, so usually we’ll all have some tears in our eyes by the end.”

Tickets are $5 and can be bought at the door or from any Highstepper.
