Andrew Bazzi, known by his last name, may be a new name on the music scene, but his talent is skyrocketing him to international fame. His debut album, “COSMIC” came out on April 12 and did not disappoint. With a voice that sounds remarkably like a mixture of Justin Bieber and the Weeknd, his music is great for fans of either of the two.

This 16 track album starts off with a song talking about how beautiful the girl he loves is. “Dreams” has a chill pop beat with a hint of rap thrown into the mix. This song is a great introduction to this album because of its whimsical portrayal of the narrator’s significant other’s beauty which is continued throughout the album.

The third song on the album, “Myself,” has a different message than much of the rest of the songs. Through a unique, futuristic sounding rhythm, Bazzi explains how he is better off by himself rather than with a girl that holds him back from his true potential. He seems to be realizing that his significant other is hindering him. He wants out of the relationship and needs to get out as soon as possible.

Next up is “Star,” a song where Bazzi talks about how in love he is with his lover. The music is upbeat, modern and perfect for a “cute” love song. Bazzi’s loving personality shines through by showering appreciation and affection through his words.

“Why?” is a chill pop song with a mellow beat. In it, the narrator admits that he isn’t the best significant other and writes the song to ask why the girl who he doesn’t treat like he should still loves him. Through three minutes of calm beats, Bazzi inquires why she still loves him, despite his lacking efforts.

“Gone” has the most rap-like and extraterrestrial beat on the album. The message of the song isn’t that great and doesn’t apply to teenage listeners, for it is talking about him being drunk and that he is “gone,” but the incredible and unique rhythm makes up for its lack of good reason.

As a whole, “COSMIC” is an out-of-this-world album, and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone.

“Fantasy” and its chill flow is yet another alien beat that sounds just like Justin Bieber. Bazzi talks about his dreams and how his significant other can just take his hand and go to their fantasy. He believes that with love, he can do anything he can dream of, no matter how far out it might seem.

“Beautiful” is seriously three minutes of Bazzi fangirling over his lover and talking about how beautiful she is inside and out. It is genuinely sweet and calm and is the perfect example of what a girl should look for in a man. “Beautiful” serves as not only the ideal model for how a guy should treat a girl, but also as a true testament to Bazzi’s loving nature.

The most iconic song on the album, “Mine,” is where Bazzi is head-over-heels for his lover. He full on proclaims to the world that his girl is all his, he wants to spend all his time with her, he will shower her with all his love and affection, and that she is perfect. This song shot to immediate fame when Snapchat used this song for a filter, and he turned into an overnight star for his charming and loving personality in music. Two more songs follow “Mine” to conclude the album.

As a whole, “COSMIC” is an out-of-this-world album, and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. If you’re looking to be transported into a galaxy of truly unique music and love, Bazzi’s debut into the music world is the perfect set of songs for you.
