How to survive 2012

How to survive 2012

Like many, I wished for 2012 to be filled with tranquility, love and A&M to have a winning football team. Okay, the last one is definitely a stretch, but that is beside the point. Thanks to the work of Hollywood and the Mayan calenders, who have so religiously pounded in our heads that 2012 is indeed the year of Armageddon, imagination has replaced rationality.

This theory has created a wide spectrum of both skepticism and anxiety. Despite what you believe, Dec. 21 is a date of significance, whether to prove your point of logic and laugh at the believers or to hide out in a bunker for 10 years. So while looking back at the history of false doomsdays, I couldn’t help but feel slightly embarrassed for what humankind has come to. If you think my point of view is too radical look up Jerry Jones and Kool-Aid. You will understand, trust me. Despite my opinion, here’s a list of preparation websites for all the paranoid:

http://www.armageddononline.org/disaster-prep-help.html – This site covers everything and anything that has to do with doomsday. Seriously. It includes a virtual guide for survival depending on your personal profile, survival kits, blogs, news, conspiracy theories, etc.

http://blog.2012pro.com/2012/10-tips-how-to-build-bunker-to-survive-2012 – A step-by-step explanation on how to build your very own bunker. The bunker even has its own sewage system.

http://2012nemesis.com/survive-2012/ – The site boast simplicity and list seven easy steps in preparation. I would say it’s the site for you if you straddle the fence and lack the commitment to build an underground bunker.
