Photography class wins state, national awards

The Commercial Photography students have won several awards this semester from the Association of Texas Photography Teachers Fall Contest and the Journalism Education Association’s national convention in San Antonio.

Below is the list of their awards and accomplishments.

ATPI Fall Photo Contest:
Amy McCoy: Honorable Mention Advanced Advertising;
Haley Rushing: Honorable Mention Advanced Open, First Place Advanced Sports;
Caroline Prieskorn: Honorable Mention Advanced Open;
Sabrina Larson: First Honorble Mention Beginning Studio Portrait, First Place Beginning Sports, Honorable Mention Beginning Sports, Honorable Mention Student Life;
Carlie Clem: Second Place Beginning Sports.

Journalism Education Association National Convention Awards:
Haley Rushing: Superior Sports Yearbook Photography;
Caroline Prieskorn: Excellent Sports Yearbook Photography.

The program was honored by having 13 current and former students published in the BEST OF TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHY Volume 3. There were more than 26,000 images considered for this book that was published by the Association of Texas Photography Instructors. Current Texas High School students that were published in this book are Caroline Prieskorn, Haley Rushing, Brianna Sellers and Amy McCoy.
