The fourth annual Court Appointed Special Advocates 5K Color Run is happening Saturday, Sept. 23, at Trinity Baptist Church ,3115 Trinity Blvd.

There is a children’s race starting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, and then an adult race and family walk starting at 9 a.m. Early registration on Saturday begins at 8:30 a.m.. It is $30 for those 12 and older. Registration for children 5 to 11 is $15.

“It’s just a fun event,” said Leigh Davis, spokesperson for CASA. “It’s something different we brought to the Texarkana community and everybody just loves the bright, colorful powders. It’s a fun thing for the kids. It brings out a lot of children and families which is what CASA is all about—helping children and families.”

CASA is an organization that aids more than a 1,000 abused and neglected children in this city. All proceeds from this race will go to providing help for these children.
