Prom moms seek assistance

Story by Emily McMaster, copy editor

Senior prom will be held Saturday, May 5, at Texarkana College in the Truman Arnold Center. Although it seems too far in the future to be planning, prom moms have already taken the first steps to making the event a success.

The fundraising committee has met three times to plan ideas to raise money. So far, two shirt designs have been created and sold at the annual Watermelon Supper and Tiger Camp. They will continue to be for sale at all home football games along with peanuts from Texas Roadhouse.

The fundraising committee is also planning on doing “tiger attack” yard signs. When a student has one of these signs in his yard, he must pay to have it removed. The sign is then placed in someone else’s yard. Bunco Night for students will also take place in January.

Parents of seniors are welcome to volunteer to sell merchandise or help with any prom committee. Contact the fundraising co-chairs Jessica Snow at [email protected] or Terri McMaster at [email protected] for more information.
