College Night will be held Nov. 13 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Texas High cafeteria. College Night is an opportunity for students to learn about how to apply for colleges and just where it is they would like to apply to. There will be over 70 colleges and universities present along with all branches of the military.

Students are strongly encouraged to attend the event as it could give them an insight as to what they plan on doing after they graduate. College recruiters will be there to answer all questions students have about college including how to write an application essay and how to get a scholarship.

“I think it’s really good for all students to attend, regardless of your grade.” college readiness advisor Betty Stark said. “9th and 10th graders are hopefully exploring where they want to go to college and what they want to major in, and it’s there that they can ask all these questions. The juniors are getting close to where they need to make these decisions for college. Seniors should go because these are the actual recruiters that will be receiving their applications so it’s really good for them to put a face with the application.” Stark said.
