The Texas HighSteppers attended the Danceline USA National Championship competition this past Friday and Saturday at SeaWorld San Antonio. This was the second and final competition they attended this year. The team, under the direction of Amber Reynolds, received the highest team award as National Champions.

“As a director, it’s always rewarding to see the hard work of the team pay off,” Reynold said. “This year our contest season was extra long with five weeks, including spring break, between our contests. I pushed the girls with difficult choreography, and they truly delivered.”

Along with the National Championship, the following awards were given to individuals and the team:

Division 1 Solos: Hollan Borowitz, Sarah Grace Boudreaux, Madison Bowers, Perin Creek, Allie Graves, EmmaGrace Kuhl, Gabby Leon, Parker Ellyn Madlock, Emily McMaster, Emma McMillen, Addison Rogers, Sarah Stark

3rd Place National Solo: Sarah Grace Boudreaux
4th Place National Solo: Addison Rogers

Officer Awards:
Platinum winner (above 95 average for all three dances)
1st Place Officer Lyrical
3rd Place Officer Open

Team Awards:
Platinum Winner (above 95 average for all four dances)
1st Place Team Kick
1st Place Team Military
2nd Place Team Pom
Judges Award for Kick Routine (judges favorite for the day)
National Champions Large Team
Team National Gold (one of the top overall averages of the contest)

“My goal for the team every day and every year is to never settle and to continue to grow,” Reynolds said. “Winning this national title shapes our future because my expectations for the future are even higher than they were to begin with. These girls now know that anything is possible.”
