The YESS Equality club is hosting an event on Saturday at the Spring Lake Park Pavilion from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The goal of the event is to raise funds and bring awareness to the new organization.

“We want a lot of people to come and enjoy themselves,” sophomore Katherine Page said. “As I’ve been helping organize the event, there’s been a lot of positive feedback about what we’re doing for the club.”

At the event, there will be a bake sale along with local singers bringing an atmosphere of joy and excitement in order to attract a multitude of individuals from all over Texarkana. A gallery of submitted art pieces will be displayed centering on the theme of equality.

“Hopefully, there will be a big turnout and the publicity that YESS club will be worthwhile,” Page said. “I expect people to have fun and bring the community closer together.”
