Silence travels through the auditorium as former Texas High student and attendee of the University of North Dakota, Jeb Baugh, asks world-renowned partner with Turning Point USA, Glen Beck, a question that sent society into inquiry.
On Oct. 9, 2025, Beck visited the University of North Dakota to honor Charlie Kirk’s life. Beck answered multiple questions and concerns from students at the University until Baugh, a Texarkana native, expressed frustration over the fact that lobbying the country of Israel costs the U.S. more than it should. Beck, frankly, beat around the bush to try and answer this question until another member from the crowd expressed his belief that the question is simple; does Beck put America or Israel first? At that moment, Beck paused in disbelief. Baugh’s question for Beck caused numerous young conservatives and news outlets to support him and show interest in the matter.
“I was the second or third [person] in line,” Baugh said. “I think most of the audience agreed with me [considering their reaction].”
As a child, Baugh attended Morris Elementary, where former assistant principal Erin Davis remembers his strong qualities. Davis currently serves as an assistant principal at Texas High School.
“Jeb was very strong in his beliefs,” Davis said. “He was really good at sharing those [beliefs] and having productive debates with people. Even in elementary school when I had him, it was an election year, and he knew a lot of the policies as a ten year old.”
Current English teacher at Texas High and former teacher of Baugh, Kara Wicks, taught him in the tenth grade.
“I taught Jeb in Pre-AP English II,” Wicks said. “I was surprised to see Jeb on YouTube. I [didn’t know] he was that passionate about politics.”
Baugh continues to impress residents across Texarkana and actively encourages his following on social media to wake up the next generation of United States Voters.
“I would say a lot of people are waking up,” Baugh said. “[I would guess] 70 percent of Gen Z, especially young white men, think like I do.”
