New on Netflix

New seasons of beloved shows now streaming on Netflix

April 10, 2023

Netflix is the most popular streaming service in the world. It provides hundreds of shows that keep viewers on the edge of their seat, movies that provide easy entertainment for days and documentaries revealing the unknown to over 220 million customers each year. With all this being said, subscribers can become attached to their favorite original shows. This means that when a new season comes out, dedicated fans will devote time to gluing their eyes to the screen until all new episodes have been watched. Recently, Netflix released a new season to three very popular shows: “Outer Banks,” “You” and “All American.”

“Outer Banks”

Since “Outer Banks” erupted onto the scene in 2020, it has been one of Netflix’s most popular shows, netting in over 2 billion dollars in profit. Just recently the third season of “Outer Banks” was released, and it did not disappoint. The treasure enthusiasts continued their quest for gold except this time it was for something bigger, the El Dorado.

“In the new season of ‘Outer Banks’, I thought the storyline of discovering more history than gold was fascinating. I enjoyed the world building and conquest that led outside of the Outer Banks,” senior Seth Trusty said.

The first two seasons of “Outer Banks” have been set on a group of teenagers with nothing to lose who set out on a quest to change their lives. But this season, whilst doing this, they fought to protect everything they have up to this point.

The character development is also a huge part of this season. People like Pope and JJ undergo significant change throughout the season. Pope focuses on discovering his family’s history while JJ has a lot of internal struggles due to trust issues from his dad.

“My favorite character this season was definitely Pope,” Trusty said. “He was the most invested in everything going on and had multiple different plots.”

John B’s two season journey finally ends with him reuniting with his thought to be dead father, Big John. They continue to go for the big gold conquest as father and son.

Overall, there were many concerns going into season three about continuing the success, but after watching, many are still intrigued and excited for season four.

“You”

“YOU” is a show for those who want to get their heart racing. The fourth season of the hit show “YOU” is back on Netflix, and it has watchers raving. Sitting at second place in the trending section, this amazing piece of content has gone above and beyond this season. With more drama, action and plot twists than ever before, it’s the perfect show to binge-watch.

If anyone hasn’t watched “YOU” yet, now is the perfect time to start. The show follows the life of Joe Goldberg, an obsessive stalker who is addicted to following his love ones. From his toxic relationships to hidden secrets, Joe is the anti-hero that students at Texas High have been looking for.

Without giving too much away, it’s safe to say that this season has made it to the top of the roller coaster and everything is all coming together. Joe has moved to a new town with a new identity, and he’s once again met a woman who he believes is the one. He has had several serious lovestruck relationships, but he has been struck down more times than fans can count.

“I can’t wait to see what this show has for us,” sophomore Birklie Kimble said. “The environment in the show has always put me on edge. It is the symbol of paranoia.”

Some fans have already induldged and finished the show.

“I couldn’t stop watching and finished in just a weekend,” senior Marcos Garcia said. “It’s the perfect mix of every drama show combined.”

With Joe’s unpredictable antics and a brand new cast of characters, this season is sure to keep you guessing until the very end.

In addition to the exciting new characters, the show’s creators have promised a new twist that will shock audiences. This season will also dive deeper into Joe’s past, revealing more about his neglected childhood and the events that shaped him into the psychopath he is today.

“I know what I’m doing this spring break,” freshman Brayden Ahrens said. “I can’t wait to see Joe’s resolution.”

Needless to say, this show has developed a fan base over the short time it has lived, hopefully it can keep its high rank and win the awards it deserves. Remember, always practice healthy and respectful relationships – unlike Mr. Goldberg.

“All American”

All-American is a drama series on Netflix about a high school football player from South Los Angeles who gets recruited to play for Beverly Hills High School. The show explores the challenges he faces navigating two very different worlds and the relationships he forms along the way. The Netflix show has over 559,000 people watching.

“My mom actually told me about All-American and recommended it to me, so we watched the first few episodes together,” senior Daryon Jackson said. “Ever since then, I’ve been watching the series.”

A lot of people like the series and have suggested it to others. Enthusiastic fans are excited for the new season to come.

“I’m excited for the new season just to see how everything unfolds between the four main characters and the new experiences they may face,” Jackson said.

Many people have rewatched the show just to get the excitement for the next season.

“[I’m really excited about the next season]. I’m waiting for the surprise,” junior Anteirany Wilson said.
