Tiger Times

Lourdes Quijas

Lourdes Quijas, Staff Writer

Lourdes Quijas is ready to start her first year in publications with the Tiger Times. Besides being in newspaper, Lourdes is in the Tiger Band. This will be her ninth year drumming and her fifth year in the band. She’s a percussionist and pushes herself every day to reach her goal of having a great marching season each year with her band buddies. She’s a vibraphone player and spends most of her time playing her instrument. Despite all of the stress she builds up from band, Lourdes takes it out by writing each night before bed and getting ready for the next day to rehearse her music all over again. When not doing anything, Lourdes spends time with her niece and nephew and takes care of them while her brother is at work. She’s excited to start the year with her best friend, Ryan Kate Walker, by her side. She can't wait to work with her and get even closer to her. Lourdes is ready to start the year off strong.
