New curriculum changes for 2018-2019 year

The 2018-2019 school year will offer an additional course to the English department. Students will no longer be required to take English I to English IV to graduate high school. Instead, Business English will now be offered as a class anytime during one’s high school career.

“The focus of the Business English class will be more on job-related English and literature, rather than the English that is more focused on different genres,” Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction Carla Dupree said.

Students might choose to take Business English their freshman year and never make it to English IV their senior year. This course will affect the diversity of English classes since multiple grade levels will be able to take whichever one they please.
