Maurice Oldham’s Child Development class used Jean Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development to make “Busy Books” for Williams Memorial Day School. They made five books in total, each demonstrating a theme on each page. The themes are classification, seriation, spatial relationships, temporal relations and an aspect of their lack of conservation.

When giving the books to the preschool, they manipulated the books by playing with the textures in the book as the students read to them.

Oldham is taking four students to Waco, Texas where the SkillsUSA competition will be held. They will be presenting the busy books they made for Williams Memorial Day School.
