Coming home from summer vacation I was expecting Texarkana to be as boring and plain as always. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a new place to eat that feels like something on the Dallas spectrum.

Pita Ur Way and Yogurt Ur Weigh are two new businesses that finally reach out to a younger group of people. The two businesses split a building by Sonic on Richmond Road and surprisingly make a good place to hang out with friends. The place is a big and cozy spot to just chill.

“I think that the atmosphere is a great place to hangout with friends or to go to for study time or after a movie,” junior Madeleine Russell said. “Yogurt Ur Weigh toppings are fresh and the yogurt is a healthier alternative than ice cream.”

With a choice of white or wheat pita bread, patrons can watch the employees cook their meat and then have their pita made to order in the Subway-style veggie line. This makes for an unlimited combination of sandwich options.

On the other side of the restaurant, you can satisfy your sweet tooth by selecting a yogurt flavor, with choices ranging from vanilla to peanut butter. The one-size-fits all cups allow you to get as much or as little yogurt as you want. Toppings range from a variety of candy option to the healthier fruit and granola choices. Once you’ve filled your cup, you pay for it by the weight.

This is exactly what Texarkana needs, so drop that junk food and give this place a try.
