Halloween is here, and if you’re having trouble finding a costume and running low on cash, here are some easy DIY ideas.

Skittles or M&M’s:

Materials–

  • Any solid color T-shirt
  • White acrylic paint

These sweet treats make for a super cute and easy outfit all in one step. All you have to do is paint a white “s” or “m” on the front and back of your solid colored shirt and you’re done!

Fruits:

Materials–

  • For a pineapple:
    • Yellow T-shirt
    • Black acrylic paint
    • Green construction paper
    • Tape
  • For a strawberry:
    • Red T-shirt
    • White acrylic paint
    • Green construction paper
    • Tape
  • For a watermelon:
    • Pink T-shirt
    • Black acrylic paint
    • Green construction paper
    • Tape

Step 1: Take your T-shirt and paint your fruit’s pattern on it. The watermelon and strawberry have tear-shaped seeds, and the pineapple is covered in the letter “v.”

Step 2: Use the green paper. For the watermelon, you will just have to tape it to the bottom of the T-hirt. For the strawberry and pineapple, you will cut eight eight-inch-long tear-shaped pieces of paper and attach them to a ring of paper about 6 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall with tape. You can fold over the tears on the strawberry but leave them standing tall for the pineapple.

Step 3: Put on the shirt then the headpiece and your Halloween is sure to be great!

Robbers:

Materials–

  • White T-shirt
  • Black duct tape
  • Black face paint or washable paint
  • A grocery bag
  • Black beanie

Step 1: Lay black duct tape across the white T-shirt in horizontal stripes.

Step 2: Take your grocery bag and write a black dollar sign on it… you can use this for a candy bag!

Step 3: Use the face paint to paint a “mask” on your face.

Step 4: Put on your beanie and you’re ready to go!

Bag of Jelly Beans:

Materials–

  • Rainbow balloons
  • A clear plastic trash bag
  • A piece of paper
  • Markers
  • Tape

Step 1: Blow up enough balloons to fill the trash bag halfway.

Step 2: Cut two holes in the bottom of the trash bag for your legs and two at the top for your arms.

Step 3: Hop into the trash bag and fill it to the top with balloons.

Step 4: Draw the Jelly Belly logo on the piece of paper, color it, tape it to the front of the trash bag and head out to get some treats!
