‘An Evening of Broadway’ to be held Saturday

Story by Sydney Schoen and Olivia Corbett

A musical production, appropriately entitled “An Evening of Broadway,” will be held on Saturday at the Sullivan Performing Arts Center beginning at 7 p.m. Benefitting the Tiger Theatre Company, tickets will be $10 and sold at the door.

“It’s going to be a fun night with a lot of really talented people and the money is going to the theater, which is great because we need the funding to continue putting on these wonderful shows,” theater director Micah McBay said. “I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the concert.”

The production will include a medley of musical numbers from multiple Broadway shows: “Chicago,” “Into the Woods,” “Les Miserables,” “Little Mermaid,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Seussical,” “Shrek,” “Smokey Joe’s Cafe,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Wicked,” etc.

“We have several students: Taylor Coleman, Cara Fowler, Cat Thomas, Reece Griffin and Caroline Parks,” McBay said. “And then we have some alumni members: Stacy James Mayo, Susannah Morriss Linnett, Tonya Fowler, Carissa Fowler, Claire Reynaud, and Tara Clem.”
