New student body president Ben Norton has his plans underway for the President’s Council, a committee he hopes will allow more students to have their opinions heard.

“The council will be comprised of the presidents of every club and organization,” Norton said. “We will also have the presidents of every class in student council.”

He plans on working closely with principal Brad Bailey, so that the council will be more likely to make positive changes for the school and student body.

“It is more of a focus group. Mr. Bailey talks to me about something we should put in the school or student council, and then we talk to the President’s Council,” Norton said. “We are just trying to get representatives from every corner of the school.”

Norton said the council will look at ways to improve the pep rallies, incentives for dress up days, and any other ideas/problems that might arise throughout the year.

“This will be a better way to connect the student body to the administration,” Norton said. “I’m really optimistic about it.”
