Mistletoe Fair to open this weekend

Story by Caroline May, staff writer

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Warm, seasonal smells and red and green decorations fill every shop in town. Parents and grandparents scramble through their loved ones’ long Christmas lists and hope they can find everything they want within this small town. The best place to get into the holiday spirit, meet Santa Claus himself, and finish most of your Christmas shopping is the annual Mistletoe Fair.

The Mistletoe Fair is open to all visitors Friday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. -8 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 24 from noon – 5 p.m. It will be held at the Four States Fairgrounds, 3700 E. 50th St., as it is every year. General admission tickets are $6.

Not only will there be many shops set up around the room, but dancers from local studios will be performing holiday dances for entertainment.

“Performing at the Mistletoe really gets me into the spirit of Christmas,” senior Riley Madlock said. “I’ve been doing it since I was 3 years old, and I really just love performing for the huge crowd that’s there cheering for us.”
