A former Texas High employee is accused of an improper relationship between an educator and a student, tampering with evidence and evading arrest.

Brandon Sams, 46, is currently in custody at Bi-State Detention Center based on information from Bowie County Jail Inmate search. According to the Vine app for custody and criminal case information, Sams’ was arrested in Miller Co. Arkansas on Sept. 26, 2022 and was held in custody for another agency. He was subsequently released and then detained by Bowie Co. law enforcement officers.

“Mr. Sams is no longer an employee of TISD,” director of communications Todd Marshall said.

Sams began working with the color guard at Texas High School in the 2019-2020 school year and holds an Educational Aide I educator’s certificate, according to the Texas Educator Certification Lookup.
