Tigers hope to begin playoffs with win

Story by Caroline Purtle, co-entertainment editor

The Tigers will face McKinney North tonight in Longview in their first playoff game of the year. With the Tigers ending the season with a district victory of 9-1, they are set off to finish this competitive year with another victory.

McKinney North averages 270.6 rushing yards and 55 points a game with a ranking of 286 in the state and a district win of 5-2. Their rating is somewhat mediocre compared to Texas High No. 47 ranking and 9-1 record.

Though low ranked, a player to keep an eye on is junior Ronald Jones. He ended the season with a total of 1,954 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns.

Another impressive player is McKinney North senior Ben Dutze. He has a total of 1,600 passing yards with only three interceptions.

The game as whole will end up being a tug-of-war with points each quarter, but in the end the Tigers should beat the Bull Dogs. With competitive opposing players, I predict that the first playoff game will result in another win for Texas High.
