The Texas High boys varsity soccer team was defeated by the Sulphur Springs Wildcats 5-0 on Friday Feb. 12.

“I think we played well as a team,” senior Braden Sellers said. “We just weren’t able to fall through on the shots we did take.”

The game started out with the Wildcats in the lead when they scored with 34 minutes in the first half and again 6 minutes later.

The Wildcats scored again with 3 minutes left in the first half going into halftime with a score of 3-0.

“Whenever a team scores on us we begin to lose our confidence,” Sellers said. “We just need to find a way to play our hardest and keep our confidence up the whole game.”

The second half started out with a score from the Wildcats with 27 minutes left in the game.

The Wildcats scored again with 21 minutes left, making the final score 5-0.
“First half we didn’t play as well as we could have, so we had to make up for that in the second half but we were already so far behind,” junior Eamonn Murray said. “Second half we definitely got more into it but by the end we were already too late.”
