The Texas High Lady Tigers were defeated by the Hallsville Bobcats on March 21 with a score of 4-2.

The first home run was made by Bobcats junior Hannah Mizell halfway through the first inning. The Lady Tigers answered back with freshman Kaitlyn Cross hitting a homerun for the Tigers, tying the score at 1-1 at the end of the first inning.

Hallsville started taking over the game in the second inning after junior Julie Rauls hit a home run, bringing the score to 2-1, in favor of the Bobcats at the end of the second inning.

“Hallsville is a really good team, they’re number one in district and they go to state every year,” senior shortstop Chealsea Slider said.

The Bobcats struck another home run in the fifth inning, seizing the lead 3-2.

“If we hit in our runners on second and third then the game would have been closer but we just have to keep working on hitting hard and laying our bunts down,” freshman pitcher Lindsay Egger said.

Mizell eliminated the chance of a Tiger victory with the final home run of the game for the bobcats, bringing the final score up to 4-2.

“They beat us by only 2 runs so I feel like we came together as a team, we hit, we played defense, our pitching was on point,” Slider said. “I was just proud that we came together.”
