Story by Sydney Schoen, co-editor in chief

New Microeconomics, Economics, and World Civilizations teacher Jake Bickham shares a few of his quirks and elaborates on his commitment to his new district.

Why did you come to Texas High? How is it different from your old school?

I decided to come to Texas High after my wife was hired by the district. We wanted our children to attend an elementary school here, and I was attracted by the impressive resources and the reputation of the district. Texas High is quite different than my previous school, which is a rural, small 1A district where everyone knew everyone else and everything about them!

What’s your third favorite animal?

My third favorite animal would have to be the rabbit.

What is it like to work alongside your wife, College Algebra teacher Amanda Bickham?

Working alongside my wife is great, unless I don’t do everything she tells me to do.

What’s your favorite joke?

What do you call an Aggie after graduation? [A] boss.

If you could have any artist, band, or composer make a soundtrack for your life, who would it be and why?

I would have to go with George Strait because he is one of my favorite musicians ever.

If you could trade places with anyone, who would it be and why?

I think I would trade places with Warren Buffett because he is a billionaire.

What makes you Tiger Strong?

What makes me Tiger Strong is my commitment to my students and to the district to do the best job I can possibly do.
