The Lady Tigers defeated the Greenville Lady Lions 3-1 in their match, Aug. 19, 2022. 

The game started out very close. Texas took a while to gain their momentum and both teams continued to go back and forth.

Senior Bella Cherry had several kills to help keep the Tigers in the game. Greenville made a few errors, giving Texas the lead 13-11. 

Miscommunication by the Lady Tigers then gave the Lions the lead 15-14. Both teams continued to fight for a win.

With an ace by Greenville, they took the win in the first set with a close score of 26-24.

Texas started off strong in the second set with multiple kills by junior Mally Lumpkin. The score was tight until the end of the set. 

The Lady Tigers responded quickly, taking control of the set early. 

With several productive serves, kills and blocks, Texas ran away with the set with a final score of 25-22.

Both teams were tied 1-1 entering the third set. Texas winning the second set carried their energy with them.

Both the Tigers and Lions had several errors throughout the duration of the set.

The Lady Tigers ultimately carried their momentum from the second set, and went on to use this to take the third set with a score of  25-21. 

Texas ended things quickly in the fourth set, staying ahead of the Lady Lions the entire time. Several rallies ended in big kills by the Tigers. 

Lumpkin led the team in kills, with 18. Cherry followed Lumpkin with 16 kills and 27 assists. Junior Cy Hopkins also contributed with 12 kills and 25 Assists. 

The Lady Tigers will face off in a round-robin Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, facing Carthage and Pleasant Grove at the Tiger Center.
