The Rockwall Hawks defeated the Texas Tigersharks 15-7 Aug 20, 2022.

Rockwall came out the gate firing, with the Tigers encountering a deficit of 0-3 in the middle of the first period.

Coach Vogan called a timeout to create a game plan, the Tigers came back to the pool with more confidence and played more physical.

Senior Owen Young scored first for the Tigers, making the score 4-1 by the end of the period.

Rockwall started the second period with a goal, junior Dayton Whiseant evened it out with one of his own, making the score 5-2.

Junior Eli Likins played extremely physical defense not allowing many passes or goals around him.

A good save by sophomore Max Likins kept the Hawks from taking the game out of hand.

Senior Tanner Pilgreen broke through the defense and scored, taking the score to 5-3.

In the second period, the Tigers held the Hawks to just two goals, scoring three, making the score at half 6-4.

Coach Vogan and Coach Likins told their team to play physical and not get upset.

“If you’re upset, you’re gonna suck,” Vogan said. “If you’re upset I’m gonna pull you out.”

The Hawks came out firing, taking the score to 9-4 in the middle of the third period.

The team continued communicating well, goalie M. Likins told his team to make sure they’re staying on their man and remembering to play tough.

Senior Tanner Pyatt consistently broke through and got to the goal, but a tough Rockwall defense held him back.

Score 10-4 at the end of period three.

The Tigersharks started to heat up at the end of the fourth period, with junior Nash Orena scoring a tough goal, followed by two more from Young.

The final score was 15-7, with the Hawks taking the win., 

Young led with four goals, followed by one goal from Pilgreen, Whiseant and Orena.
