Passionate about compassion

Senior Andrea Muniz aspires to study in Florida to be a nurse

Ambition forms from a spark of interest and passion. Futures are planned inside people’s heads. People imagine what they’re life will be like, and what they would like to spend their life doing. For some, their dream is to be an architect. For others, their dream is to be an actor. People hold these dreams ever so closely.

For senior Andrea Munoz, her dream is to study in Florida to be a nurse. She wants to help, and make sure people are taken care of. She wants to live her life spreading love by working as a nurse.

“You never know what people go through, so it’s important to show everyone love,” Munoz said. “I want to be a nurse because I like helping people and comforting them. I feel that if someone is able to help another, they should.”

When Munoz was younger, she wanted to be a musician, but her perspective on how she wanted to live her life changed after encountering positive nurses.

“The majority of my family has some sort of health problem, and I’ve always been in the hospital with my family,” Munoz said. “I’ve gotten used to the surrounding. The only thing that made me happy through that were the kind and caring nurses. They could make light of the situation.”

Munoz hopes that she influences people with her career, making people realize what should be done in society and how the world should be changed.

“I want to influence people to help others like I’d like to do,” Munoz said. “I want people to get that message from my actions. People should love people.”

To begin her career, Munoz wants to attend the University of West Florida, located in Pensacola, Florida, to the School of Nursing. Her fears about going concern her, but she is excited about the ordeal.

“I want to go because of the great nursing program,” Munoz said. “I’ve had the chance to take a tour of it and meet some of the professors teaching there. It’s gonna be a lot of hard work, but I’m ready.”
